I'm Vojta Uhlíř - the creator of the brand Uhlíř shirts = Košile od Uhlířein Czech.

In August 2023, I left a warm spot in the software development position at the Productboard.com company after 3.5 years. I always wanted to start my own projects for a long time and then I thought it was the perfect time.

On my third day off, I created a portal for Czech improvisation - www.improbox.cz . I had such projects in mind. Addressing specific problems, using experience from software development and building projects online. During the first 2 months, the website reached 2000 visits, currently it brings together all events, performances or courses taking place in the Czech Republic.

Back to shirts. If someone had told me back then that I would be making shirts, I wouldn't have believed it. I don't even have a suit at home. I like shirts and I wear them, but like my whole style - informally, almost casually.

Once I had a meeting with my colleagues outside. ☀️

And that was one of the two reasons why I started with shirts. The IT companies I worked for had a relaxed dress code. If someone came in wearing a business shirt, they looked very formal. The alternative was to wear a T-shirt. But shirts look good on men. So I was looking for some casual, stylish shirts .

On the other hand, I was at the Healing Festival for the third time in August 2023. The number of men at self-development events is increasing, but while women could choose different clothes there and become female goddesses or beautiful fairies, there was almost nothing for men . I would have bought something myself, at least just a casual, stylish linen shirt.

And so it came together. I had a specific idea for a casual but nice shirt that a guy could use for various occasions. And as men, we like that, don't we? :)

That year I had an internal attitude: "Try it, take the first step and then you'll see". So I said to myself: " A shirt? It's now or never ."

I was lucky enough to get in touch with Czech tailor and stylist Dominik Plešinger ( www.plesigner.com ), who make high quality clothes here in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿.

I put together a shirt design, got advice on a great cut. We sewed the first 16 shirts. And there was interest in them. Then a few more were ordered, then another 50 and it was off to a good start.

And so Uhlíř shirts were created. My values ​​are that I want to offer you quality shirts made from premium material. Precisely made and sewn and made in the Czech Republic. Casual, yet elegant. For every occasion.

Since then it's been a big life change and ride for me. Sometimes I have to pinch myself if it is true.

In 2024, I dressed over 300 men and even a few women. He participated in 8 design markets in Prague and Brno. And celebrated the first year of shirts. 🚀
